Toki
A greenstone toki, also known as a pounamu toki, is a traditional Maori tool or weapon made from greenstone (nephrite jade). The Maori people are the indigenous people of New Zealand, and greenstone holds significant cultural and spiritual value to them.
The toki is a chisel or adze-like tool that was traditionally used for carving wood and shaping objects. It has a distinctive shape with a wide blade and a tapered handle. Greenstone toki were highly prized and considered valuable possessions, often passed down through generations as heirlooms.
